Liberty Clinics Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any pre requisites to join?
No you don’t need any pre requisites to join but the more ground work you have done with your horse the easier and further you will get.

Do I bring My own Horse?
Yes this clinic is designed for you to bring your own horse to. We occasionally have people who come who would like to borrow a horse, if this is you please let us know as we may be able to organise this for you. 

Where does it take place?
The liberty Freedom Foundations series will take place at 224 Tutukau Road, Reporoa- half way between Rotorua and Taupo.

Other Liberty Clinics are happening around the country. Please see each booking form for details. 

Does my horse need to have been started under saddle?
No, but we do recommend that they are no younger than 2 years old and have no significant behavioral issues.

Can my child join in?
We recommend participants are aged 16 and older but can make exceptions for some advanced teenagers. We have options for children’s clinics so please ask for those details.

Can we stay overnight?
Liberty Freedom Foundation Series- Yes, paddocks for horses are available. Camping is available onsite and we also have limited accommodation options available too. If paying in full at the time of booking camping and horse accommodation will be included in the price.

I see you use ‘treats’ a lot in your videos do I have to?
We encourage you to keep an open mind about the use of food in training and will go through the benefits and downfalls of it. That said, it’s certainly not a deal breaker if you choose it is not for you and your horse. Everything we teach has multiple different ways of being achieved and its our job to open the doors for your learning to help you explore what works for you and your horse.

What time do the clinics run from?
Clinics will generally run from 9am-5pm on the first day of the weekend and 8am-4pm on the second day.

Do I need to come to all three clinics for the Liberty Freedom Foundation Series?
Yes a commitment to all three clinics is needed.

The following questions pertain to the Liberty Freedom Foundations Clinics Only:

What is the cost to attend?
The cost of all three clinics is $1050 if paying at the time of booking. If payment is made up front this will include the cost of camping and horse accommodation.

What if I can’t pay upfront? Can I pay a deposit to secure my space?
Yes, a non refundable deposit of $150 can be made to secure your space. Full payment for the rest of the clinics will need to be made 7 days prior to the start of the first clinic. Please note that if only paying the deposit your camping and horse accommodation will not be included in the price and will need to be paid separately.

How much is camping and horse accommodation?
Horse accommodation is $10 per horse per night and camping is $10 per human per night. Horses are given a small paddock each. Humans will have access to a toilet and shower as well as cooking facilities.

Can I pay as I go?
Yes you can pay as you go but the cost of the clinics will be more and it will not include camping or horse accommodation. If paying as you go each clinic costs $400. This will be payable at least 7 days before each clinic. You are still committing to all three clinics however so payment will still need to be made even if you cannot attend. Refunds will only be made in the event of a doctors or veterinary certificate

What Happens if I cannot make a Clinic I Have Paid for?
Please remember you are signing up for all three clinics. If you are unable to make a clinic due to unforeseen circumstances a medical or veterinary certificate will be needed. A 50% refund can then be issued for the dates you are unable to attend.
